Reveal's response to this week's magazine cover

Reveal Magazine's response to this week's cover, from editor-in-chief Jane Ennis:

I would like to make it quite clear that Reveal Magazine never has and never will support the idea that anorexia is a desirable goal.

The word 'Thinspiration' on the cover this week was used to describe the way in which three celebrities have dieted and exercised to lose unwanted pounds. None of these women - Jennifer Lopez, Frankie Sandford and Kym Marsh - are close to being anorexic.

At Reveal, we have always been proud to support women of all body types. We recently presented Gemma Collins our top fashion award for inspiring plus-size women with her glamorous fashion range. We are always careful to choose models who are of a healthy weight and we often feature fashions for size 16 and over.

We never criticise women for putting on weight. It is hard to understand why we are now being accused of being 'pro-anorexia' just because we have used a word, which some people associate with pro-anorexia sites.

I am sorry if our cover has unintentionally offended anybody and guarantee that we will continue to be a publication that supports women of all shapes and sizes.
