Rapper Leondre Devries and vocalist Charlie Lenehan are now set to release their debut single 'Hope' on an initial one-single deal with the label.
BAM's manager, ex-East 17 singer Blair Dreelan, announced the news on Twitter yesterday. He said: "Proud to Announce that @BarsAndMelody signed to @syco. #Proud. Thank you Mr @simoncowell #BarsAndMelodySigned."
Leondre, 13 and Charlie, 15, are set to release 'Hope' next month.
Bars and Melody - abbreviated as BAM - came in third place during the finals two weeks ago (7 June), losing out to opera singer Lucy Kay, who came in second place, and operatic group Collabro, who won the show.
BAM were hugely popular on the ITV talent show and had the support of Simon from the very beginning after he chose them as his golden buzzer act.
The young duo even flew over to the States, where they gained a legion of fans, including US chat show host Ellen DeGeneres.
'Hope' is the same single which BAM performed for their audition. The original is by Twista and Faith Evans, but BAM reworked the lyrics, which was inspired by Leondre's personal experience of being bullied at school.
Their audition video has since gone viral, racking up more than 33 million views on YouTube.
Speaking to Reveal last month, BAM told us: "To think how successful we could be with Simon's help is a dream come true. It'd be great to follow the success of people that have become big from the show. Even on The X Factor, it'd be great to be as big as One Direction."
BAM's record deal comes just days after it was announced that BGT winners Collabro have also been signed to Syco.
