Caroline Flack has left Xtra Factor.

The television presenter announced via Instagram on Wednesday night (11 June) that she won't be co-hosting X Factor's spinoff show when the new series of X Factor returns later this year.

Branding her exit a "lil announcement", the star said she'd had a great time on the show but it was time to move on.

"After three brilliant years of hosting Xtra Factor it's time to pass the baton," she told fans. "It's been incredible and I'll never forget it."

Joking about an Xtra Factor skit of the past, she added: "How can I when I'm married to Louis Walsh? It's all he ever talks about at home. I wish the new team all the best and look forward to watching the new series."

Caroline's fans were quick to express their sadness at seeing her leave.

"That is sooooo dissappointing!!!! Xtra factor WILL NOT BE THE SAME WITHOUT YOU! You're a star!!!!!" wrote one. Another said: "Gutted you're not going to be on this year. You made it an amazing show! Best of luck for the future!"

Other comments included, "You will be missed. Next presenter has big boots to fill. Good luck with whatever the future holds lovely girl" and "Miss you already. Bigger and better!"

We agree with plenty of others who said they'd miss lusting over Caroline's wardrobe and make-up...

"Will miss your outfits each week you always look amaze!" said one. A second added: "No more fashion inspiration on a sat night."

So far, it hasn't been announced who will replace Caroline on Xtra Factor. Last year, she co-hosted alongside newcomer Matt Richardson, who stepped in following the departure of fan favourite - and former X Factor contestant - Olly Murs.

A tweet sent from X Factor's official Twitter account thanked Caroline for her service.

"After 3 amazing years @carolineflack1 has chosen to move on from the show. As one of the longest serving Xtra Factor hosts ever, she did a brilliant job getting the goss and behind the scenes news. We wish @carolineflack1 the best as she heads off to new adventures."

It looks like it will be all change when X Factor's eleventh series hits ITV later this year: a new Xtra Factor star and a new look judging panel.

Not only will be seeing Simon Cowell and Cheryl Cole returning to the judging panel for the first time since 2011, we'll be welcoming a new judge, Scary Spice Mel B. The only familiar thing at this point will be good ol' Louis Walsh who is back for his eleventh year in a row!
