The ITV2 series followed Tom and his best friend Sophie Lee as they embarked on a whirlwind six-week backpacking experience across Australia, Thailand, New Zealand, Japan, Europe and Morocco.
For Tom, who turned 20 yesterday, it was a chance to get that normal student experience that he's never had because of his diving commitments, and to have a bit of a break from the sport after a gruelling few years that included winning bronze at the London Olympics 2012.
So, the confirmation today that it's not getting a second series is hardly surprising. How would that have worked anyway? Taking another career gap? Going around the world for a second time? (Not that we reckon his many fans would have minded seeing that!)
A spokesperson for ITV said: "Tom Daley Goes Global followed a specific period in Tom's life as he took a break from his diving regime to embark on a gap-year experience and travel the world.
"As such, it was only ever intended to run for one series. But we love working with Tom and having him on the channel."
It was fun while it lasted, Tom!
Tom's travel series came following two seasons of his ITV diving show Splash!, which saw him mentoring celebrity contestants in the art of diving. It's not been confirmed yet whether we'll get a third series of Splash!.
It's all about the diving for him right now as he prepares for the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow this summer and then, further afield, the Olympic Games in Rio in 2016.
Tom's also involved in charity work. He used Tom Daley Goes Global to raise money and awareness for the Brain Tumour Charity, an organisation very close to his heart as they helped support him and his family during late dad Rob's battle with cancer.
In each country he visited on Goes Global, the Olympic medallist performed a different daredevil challenge in aid of the charity.
