The actress, 26, announced she was leaving the soap last year and finally said a sad farewell to her cast mates yesterday (17 April).
After six years of playing Tina McIntyre, Michelle felt "overwhelmed" to leave the long-running ITV serial drama in what promises to be a dramatic storyline to be aired later this year.
In a string of heartfelt messages on Twitter, Michelle shared her feelings with her two million followers.
Michelle, pictured opening the new Corrie set at Salford's MediaCityUK last November, wrote: "Thank U for all the support over the last 6 n a half yrs. I'll always have a piece of Tina with me - It's inevitable I have her earrings! X"
She added: "I'll be forever in debt to Coronation Street and ITV for giving me the role of Tina, I'm going to miss her, and everyone at Corrie...
"Today has been one of the most overwhelming days I've ever had. Thank you SO much for everyone's tweets, messages and kind words..."
The star, who is engaged to reality TV's Mark Wright, also posted a collage of pictures of herself with co-star and friend Brooke Vincent.
She captioned the post: "Awww @BrookeLVincent look.... End of an era! #memories xx."
After an emotionally draining day, Michelle went to celebrate in Manchester with fiancé Mark and co-stars including Antony Cotton.
It won't be long before Michelle fans get to see her on screen again, however. She has landed a job as a judge for Lorraine's High Street Fashion Awards!
