Cheryl Cole is reportedly hoping to help Kim Kardashian score a role on X Factor. Yes. Really. Well, reportedly.

According to a new report, Girls Aloud star Cheryl reckons Kim would be the perfect addition to the ITV singing show – despite having little musical experience herself.

The reasoning behind the somewhat wild choice is that Kim knows how to handle the inevitable media interest that comes with being on X Factor.

A source told the Daily Star: "Cheryl's been busy convincing Simon that while Kim isn't a singer, she'd be a great mentor because she knows how to handle fame.

"The idea is that Kim would fly over and give special media training to the acts towards the end of the show."

Hmm… as Cheryl, Simon and Kim haven't said anything yet, we won't get our hopes up for a Kimmy K appearance.

And surely Cheryl's enough of a pro at media interest that she'd be the absolute perfect person herself to teach the contestants all they need to know?!

Cheryl announced in March that she was returning to X Factor UK alongside Simon Cowell. The other judges have yet to be confirmed. Cheryl left the UK show in 2011 to join the US version but was famously sacked just a few days after beginning her new job.

On the other side, do know that Cheryl and Kim are friends as they were snapped hanging out together at Kim's fiancé Kanye West's concert in LA in October 2013.

And Kim is a fan of X Factor. In fact, Kim was among the stars who voiced disappointment when Cheryl was axed from the US version of the show back in 2011.

At the time, Kim tweeted: "I love Cheryl Cole! Kinda devastated she won't be on X Factor anymore!"

Cheryl later contacted Kim to express support during Kim's pregnancy, saying: "I admire your tenacity and send you my best wishes with the rest of your pregnancy."

Kim was quick to respond, telling Cheryl she'd been truly touched by the message. "Thank you so much for the support and positivity," she said. "Your sweet tweet really made me smile."

If Kim did decide to help Cheryl, she could always turn to sister Khloe for a bit of X Factor advice as Khloe hosted a series of the now-defunct US version.
