According to The Sun, bosses at the BBC are eager to team Claudia with Tess Daly when the dancing show returns later this year, making them the first female presenting duo to front a primetime Saturday night show.
Viewers have already seen Claudia strutting her stuff on Strictly as the co-presenter of the Sunday night results show, but if she replaces Sir Bruce, she'll be there on performance night as well.
No decisions have been made yet but an insider told the newspaper that Claudia and Tess are the first choice of presenting team.
A source added to Daily Star: "The job is Claudia's for the taking."
Tess has presented Strictly alongside Sir Bruce since its first series. Sir Bruce announced last week that he would step down from presenting the main show but return for Christmas and Children In Need specials.
The 86-year-old has said he wants to spend more time with his wife and has admitted the fourteen-week Strictly schedule would be gruelling for a man thirty years younger.
Tess paid tribute to Sir Bruce following his retirement announcement, saying: "He's a TV legend, a total gentleman and someone my family and I are honoured to call a true friend. We've spoken about it, and he knows how much I love him and how much he'll be missed.
"He's not going to escape me that easily, as we'll be keeping him dancing when we're reunited for the Children in Need and Christmas specials!"
