Sarah Harding has denied wanting to land a judging spot on X Factor.

The Girls Aloud star spoke out on Twitter after seeing a fan's message saying how great it was that Sarah wanted to sit next to bandmate Cheryl Cole on the panel.

Sarah replied: "Err… Do NOT believe everything u read people!!!"

We reckon the story came following Sarah's interview with The Mirror this week, where she joked that she and Cheryl would have lots of fun together on the show.

"Can you imagine me versus Cheryl?! I think it would be good fun. Me and Cheryl always have great banter on stage and she loves grabbing my bum and giving me a snog. She is terrible."

But unfortunately for Sarah and Girls Aloud fans, she wasn't being serious.

It was announced earlier this year that Cheryl would return to the X Factor judging panel alongside Simon Cowell for the show's eleventh series, airing later this year.

The identities of the other judges have yet to be revealed.
