Former X Factor contestant Ray and his professional skating partner Maria Filippov rose to victory last night following a nail-biting final.
Ray was joined in the last ever show by Hayley Tamaddon and Beth Tweddle and, after their first two skates, he managed a top score of 80 while they each achieved 79.5.
Beth was first to be eliminated, leaving Hayley and Ray to skate bolero - a DOI finale tradition.
After being announced as the winner, Ray said: "I'm proper buzzing. I'm over the moon, I really am. Drinks are on me!"
He has since taken to Twitter to thank viewers for picking up the phone and voting for him and Maria.
Using capital letters just to emphasise his excitement, Ray tweeted: "MASSIVE THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU WHO VOTED FOR ME AND @mariafilippov WE ARE SO HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! #doi."
As it was the last ever series of DOI, the lineup consisted of past celebrity contestants. Ray, 25, won the fourth series back in 2009.
Prior to last night's victory, Ray confessed in a Daybreak interview that he was "definitely blagging it", adding: "There's so much to think about… It either happens or it doesn't, that's the thing."
Meanwhile, before last night's final, DOI host Phillip Schofield joined the stars and their skaters for an Ellen Degeneres-style Oscars selfie backstage.
Aw, it's the end of an era!
