Despite having previously won DOI in 2009, and being favourite to win the current All-Stars series, Ray has put his success down to fluke.
Speaking on ITV1's Daybreak today, Ray said: "I'm definitely blagging it. I know it sounds mad but I totally am blagging it!
"You're living on the edge on the skates. One minute you could be doing a lift and your weight could go one way and your shoulders the other.
"There's so much to think about… It either happens or it doesn't, that's the thing."
Ray faces tough competition from Sam Attwater, Hayley Tamaddon and Beth Tweddle in the semi-final of the show on Sunday, however he is putting the thought of winning out of his mind.
"I try not to think about it to be honest," Ray told hosts Lorraine Kelly and Aled Jones.
"The nerves are there anyway and you're anxious about going out and doing something that's out of your comfort zone.
"It sounds stupid but I live like a dog, I live in the moment so I live in what is happening now and what I need to do now and then once it's done it's in the pocket."
He added: "It would mean the world to be the champion of champions, that would just be insane.
"It's been such an experience, even more so than the last time I did it. I've made great friends and I've learnt a good skill. It's on the CV!"
