TOWIE star Sam Faiers has been diagnosed with Crohn's Disease.

Boutique owner Sam fell sick during her time in the Celebrity Big Brother house earlier this year, resulting in two hospital admissions and a string of tests to determine the cause of her mystery illness.

Now, a rep for Sam has confirmed to Reveal that she was recently diagnosed with Crohn's, an inflammatory bowel disease.

Sam was seen filming TOWIE with sister Billie earlier this month.

Crohn's is a chronic condition that causes inflammation of the digestive system. People can have periods of good health and also periods where their symptoms are more active.

Symptoms can include abdominal pain, weight loss, anaemia and extreme tiredness, some of which Sam has spoken about in the past.

While in the CBB house, fans of Sam, 23, became worried when it was reported she was suffering stomach pains. They also noticed she didn't appear to be her usual, bubbly self.

It was on CBB that Sam began to feel ill.

Speaking on ITV's This Morning after the show ended, Sam said: "My experience compared to everybody else was so different and I'm absolutely gutted.

"For two weeks I couldn't hold food down whatsoever, and I still haven't had my results back from the hospital and I was in and out of hospital while I was in there as well. I went in there twice for blood tests and scans and it was really serious.

"As much as I tried to do as much as I could, with the more tricky tasks I couldn't do them for health and safety, I couldn't drink alcohol so I was absolutely gutted. But I can't thank everyone enough. I was so lucky to be in a house with caring people because everyone did really look after me."

Sam's diagnosis comes as her TOWIE filming commitments resumed.

Sam is currently filming the eleventh series of TOWIE, which kicks off Sunday, 23 February at 10pm on ITV2, but hopefully she's not pushing herself too hard.

The blonde hasn't made any reference to her diagnosis on Twitter, but on 6 February she did tweet her thanks to everyone who had wished her a speedy recovery.

"Reading through all your tweets, thank u for your get well messages. Still resting up. Can't wait to be better & out & about."

We hope Sam starts to feel better soon.
