Friday's TV pick: Student Nurses: Bedpans and Bandages

It's harder to qualify to become a nurse than ever before with greater demands and added responsibility and in Student Nurses: Bedpans and Bandages we'll follow a group of trainee nurses in Birmingham and Manchester.

From rock drummers to carpet fitters, this lot have a diverse range of backgrounds and lots of different motivations behind their dream, but they all have one goal: to become a nurse.

24-year old Alistair is a first-year student and swapping his regular pay cheque as a carpet fitter to do a job he considers more rewarding. But how will he cope setting foot on the ward for the very first time after two months in the classroom?

There's also mature student Dany, who at 50 is picking up the career she began training for three decades ago, and 21-year old Helen, who is at the end of her three-year degree to become a children's nurse.
