Coronation Street has been going from strength to strength lately. Earlier this week, the cast and crew walked away with the gong for 'Best Serial Drama' at the National Television Awards.

Actress Julie Hesmondhalgh also won the award for 'Best Serial Drama Performance'. This came just two days after she was highly praised for her portrayal of Hayley Cooper, who died in the soap on Monday night (20 January).
