The teenager's first record will feature three original songs alongside a collection of contemporary covers including the Bruno Mars ballad 'Just The Way You Are' and 'Someone Like You' by Adele.
It will also include the Westlife song 'Flying Without Wings', which Nicholas sang in the X Factor live finale alongside Westlife star Shane Filan.
Nicholas said: "When I found out that I was signing to RCA I was over the moon as I knew that they worked with some of the biggest artists in the world. It feels absolutely amazing to be recording my own album and I can't wait to get it out there and give something back to all the fans who have supported me from the very start."
17-year-old Nicholas announced his record deal on 10 January, telling fans: "I am so happy to tell you all that I'm now signed to @RCARecords & my album will be out in 8 weeks time! Who is all going to buy it?"
His big news came just a couple of weeks after the X Factor final and his vow to fans that he would continue to pursue his musical dreams.
