The 19-year-old will return to our screens in January when the second series of his programme Splash! begins on ITV, featuring a new group of celebrities learning the intricate skills of diving.
"TV presenting is what I'd like to do after diving. I love entertaining people and being part of the show," said Tom.
"Presenting is great fun and it's a natural progression for me, as I have been on TV since I was very young. It's definitely what I want to focus on after my diving career."
For now, however, Splash! is ideal for the teen as it allows him to juggle presenting with his strict training regime.
"The beauty of Splash! is that the set is a swimming pool. That means I can complete my normal training sessions and train the celebrities. It's brilliant.
"I just love doing it. I get to meet loads of interesting people. I'm having the time of my life on Splash!. It's just fantastic fun."
After his success in diving - including a bronze medal at the London 2012 Olympics - and being the face of a primetime Saturday night show, it's no surprise Tom attracts plenty of his attention wherever he goes - and he doesn't mind.
"Everyone is so supportive," he said. "It means so much when I hear people saying, 'I started diving after I saw you doing it.' That really motivates me. It's a big circle. If I can inspire people then that in turn inspires me."
Splash!, hosted by Vernon Kay and Gabby Logan, returns Saturday, 4 January at 7.20pm on ITV.
Contestants taking part in the first heat are Michael Strachan, Diversity's Perri Kiely, TOWIE's Gemma Collins, Hollyoaks' Gemma Merna and ex-EastEnders star Ricky Groves.
