It's Christmas Day and once we've stuffed ourselves full of turkey, opened all our presents, watched the Queen give her speech and had a little nap on the sofa, it's time to watch the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special, Doctor Who, Call The Midwife, Downton Abbey and Alan Carr: Christmas Chatty Man.

In the Strictly special, EastEnders star Ricky Norwood will be quickstepping with Janette Manrara, West End actress Elaine Paige will do the cha cha with Pasha Kovalev, DJ Sara Cox is with Robin Windsor and they're waltzing, while The Saturdays' Rochelle Humes and Ian Waite will be taking on the salsa. Matt Goss is partnered with Aliona Vilani and they'll be doing the American Smooth and finally comedian Rufus Hound is dancing the tango with Flavia Cacace. But who will lift the seasonal glitterball trophy?

Call the Midwife Christmas Special, BBC1, Wed 25 Dec

Next up, Call The Midwife takes us to Poplar and Christmas 1953. Love is in the air as Jenny and Alec's relationship blossoms, but the discovery of an unexploded bomb sees the whole area evacuated and our nuns and nurses having to work hard to create a merry Christmas for everyone.

Doctor Who Christmas Special, BBC1, Wed 25 Dec

Then it's time for the seasonal outing to see Doctor Who – and it's Matt Smith's last episode as the Time Lord before he regenerates into Peter Capaldi. Of course he has to save the world before he does it and he drags trusty assistant Clara from family dinner to do so.

Downton Abbey, Christmas Special, ITV, Wed 25 Dec

Over on ITV, Downton is giving us an extra-long episode too – but the Crawley's aren't having Christmas, they're in the height of summer and Rose is about to be presented. Cora's mother, Martha, and playboy brother, Harold are here for a visit – and to cause trouble, we imagine!

Finally, Alan Carr's Christmas Chatty Man sees the comic joined by Russell Brand, David Dickinson, Davina McCall and Little Mix for some festive fun, a sing song and lots of naughty chat. A perfect way to round off a very happy day.
