Prison officer Sam won the recording contract prize and chance to support Beyoncé on her UK tour after beating teenager Nicholas McDonald during Sunday night's live finale (15 December).
As always, at the very start of the series, each of the judges was asked to write the name of their predicted winner on a slip of paper which was then sealed – until tonight.
After the result was announced, Xtra Factor presenters Caroline Flack and Matt Richardson opened the envelopes, which revealed that all four judges had correctly guessed the outcome - for the first time ever!
Host Dermot O'Leary also predicted Sam. Unfortunately for Caroline and Matt, they both guessed incorrectly. Caroline chose Hannah Barrett while Matt went for Tamera Foster.
"And that's why we work on Xtra Factor!" joked Caroline.
Perhaps it's hardly surprising Sam was the judges' favourite from day one given the praise they showered on the 36-year-old throughout the series.
She was the bookies' favourite to take the title for weeks and delivered four strong performances over the weekend's finale. She kicked off with Lady Gaga's 'The Edge Of Glory' followed by a duet of 'And I'm Telling You' alongside Nicole.
On Sunday's live show she performed her favourite song of the series, 'Power Of Love' by Jennifer Rush, and her choice for her winner's song, 'Skyscraper' by Demi Lovato.
Sam was mentored by Sharon, who was so overcome with emotion watching her perform 'Skyscraper' that she dissolved into tears and wasn't able to give any feedback.
Speaking on Xtra Factor, Sharon - who is stepping down as a judge before the next series - said she hopes to remain in contact with her act. "I hope she will have time to pick up my calls as I know she'll be really busy," she joked.. "Always a little tiny piece of me will be with Sam."
