The popstar said he "definitely" won't be bursting into song on the show, adding: "I really hope I am not pushed into that category of entertainer. I don't see myself as that. I can cook and I think conversation is key."
Kian will have nine other celebrities to chat with when he arrives in the Australian jungle on Sunday night (17 November), ranging from TOWIE star Joey Essex to EastEnders' Laila Morse and model Amy Willerton.
"I will try to make as many friends as possible," he said. "Everyone always gravitates towards certain people but I want to get to know everyone and hear their stories. I will try and come up with some wacky ideas to keep everyone entertained. Who knows?"
It seems we could be seeing a different side to Kian in the jungle - which is exactly what he wants.
After a career spent sharing the limelight with four other – and then three other – singers, he said: "From my perspective it is going to be nice to go in as an individual and people can see me as me. That's a really nice thing to be able to do."
He added: "It's such a strange environment to be in and I am sure I am going to learn a lot about myself. I am also looking forward to not having a mobile or iPad with me."
We wonder if he'll still be saying that after a few days?!
