Mel, who co-hosts the show with Sue Perkins, finds the temptation of the yummy cakes and pastries just too difficult to resist when the hopefuls are whipping up a storm in the kitchen.
In an interview, Mel said: "I've put on a good 11lbs every series. The first couple of episodes it's, 'No thank you, not for me'.
"Cut to the semi-final and we're hoofing up whole quiches."
Mel also admitted to the Radio Times that she, Sue, Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood all wear special heated belts to prevent them getting cold when filming the BBC1 series in the iconic marquee.
Sounds like just the life to us! Cake and a warm belt, what more could you ask for?
