Last night, news broke around the world that the Duchess of Cambridge had given birth to a boy after being admitted to St Mary's Hospital in London at 6am.
Not one to miss out on the excitement, BBC1 soap EastEnders will now reference the tot's arrival in tonight's (23 July) episode.
In a last minute scene to be dropped into the programme Abi, played by Lorna Fitzgerald, and Dot Branning - June Brown - will discuss the Royal baby's birth.
A show spokesperson said: "This is such a momentous occasion for the Royal family, the country and of course the residents of Walford that we felt it should be marked in EastEnders history".
Since it first hit our screens in the 80s, EastEnders has often marked national events with last minute scenes. These included Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding, World Cup matches, the London 2012 Olympics and, more recently, Andy Murray's win at Wimbledon.
