A rare sight in the wild, the European hamster was spotted in Vienna after filling the pouches of his cheeks with yummy treats.
The fluffy critters eat a diet of seeds, legumes, root vegetables and grasses and also insects. After collecting a big pile of food, they use their cheeks to carry it back to a special underground storage hole for winter.
European hamsters usually hibernate between October to March, waking every five to seven days to feast on their carefully stored food.
Perhaps this little fella's stocks were running low!
