Zoe Salmon talks to Reveal about her latest project - cooking for ghosts in England's Most Haunted House!

After presenting Blue Peter for four years, you would think that Zoe had tried her hand at just about everything but this Halloween she is taking on a new, supernatural challenge with Lyle's Golden Syrup - Celebrity Frightened Chef.

Zoe donned her chef whites and headed over to Shrieves House, Stratford-Upon-Avon home to over 40 ghosts including the 18th Century serial killer The Stratford Ripper.

"Quite a few paranormal experts have been to Shrieves House and felt something – a presence," Zoe tells Reveal. "That freaked me out even before I went in!"

"We went all out to make it as spooky as possible so we filmed it all at night in night vision," she tells us.

In the pitch black, it took all the training Zoe had during this year's Celebrity Masterchef to whip up some spooky recipes without having an accident.

"The skills I picked up during Celebrity Masterchef definitely helped me to concentrate while cooking in the dark with possible ghosts around me!" laughs Zoe.

"Because of the night vision we couldn't have even a candle on so it called for a lot more care on my part while cooking!

"There was a lot of 'Careful with the knives Zoe!' – I had to make sure I didn't chop a finger off!"

Some of the seasonal recipes Zoe made for her supernatural guests included Witches Ribs and Spiced Marshmallows and while she didn't see anything while filming, she doesn't think she was cooking alone.

"It was really eerie," she tells us. "There were a few times when I had to stop filming because I definitely felt something touch me.

"Safe to say I'm glad I'm out of there now and I don't think I'll return!"

We asked Zoe if she believed in ghosts before this adventure?

"I tell myself they don't exist so I don't terrify myself!" she confesses.

"Whether you believe in ghosts or not, if it's the middle of the night, you're home alone and you hear a noise you can definitely freak yourself out."

So has the experience left her with an open mind about the spiritual world?

"It has made me think, 'Are there spirits out there but only certain people can see them?' It's absolutely made me more inclined to believe in the supernatural.

"Just because you can't see it doesn't mean there aren't things going on…"
