Russell Grant's Daily Horoscopes for Tuesday 18 June

GEMINI 22 May – 21 June
A stubborn attitude will cause problems in your work life. You have to be more accommodating to your colleagues. Their tastes may not be as refined as yours, but so what? You'll be able to live with the results without too much strain. There may not be enough money in the budget to give you a raise. Resist the urge to issue an ultimatum. In this economy, you can feel grateful for having a steady job. A better opportunity will come along, so long as you stay patient.

CANCER 22 June – 23 July
You're very impatient with a relative who keeps dragging their feet. No matter how much you urge them to hurry up, this family member will take their own sweet time. You're better off turning your attention to a fulfilling endeavour. Getting a spa treatment or changing and updating your image will give you a lift. It will feel wonderful to have someone cater to your whims for a change. Don't buy an expensive appliance just yet. A big sale is on the horizon.

LEO 24 July – 23 August
An authority figure will practice favouritism when assigning jobs, putting you out of the loop. Your talent poses a serious threat. It's difficult to contain your anger at the situation, but there's nothing you can do to change it. Be content with doing a fairly good job, while expending most of your energy on a hobby you do enjoy. Bite your tongue when talking to a contentious neighbour or relative. The last thing you want is to get drawn into a pointless argument.

VIRGO 24 August – 23 September
If there's anything you hate; it's working for someone who is too afraid to try new ideas. Even a traditionalist like you sees the merit in moving with the times. Why stick to the old ways when you can save time, money and energy with technological breakthroughs? Unfortunately, your proposals won't be met with much enthusiasm now. It's best to keep your ideas to yourself. In time, you'll be able to launch your own business venture, using these brainstorms to generate a handsome profit.

LIBRA 24 September – 23 October
Beware of procrastinating. The longer you linger over a job, the greater your chances of being eclipsed by a rival. People are jealous by your intelligence and charm. When they see an opportunity to outshine you, they will do so with gusto. It hurts your pride to know you are unpopular. Actually, a great many people like and admire you. Just a few petty people seek to push you from your pedestal. You need to watch your back when you're in the company of vultures.

SCORPIO 24 October – 22 November
Inflated ideals will get you in trouble. You have to think in terms of what is practical. If you have to pay more money to have paperwork processed in a timely fashion, so be it. People are relying on you to deliver a job by a certain date. If you let them down, the cost will be monumental. Besides, you don't want to jeopardise your professional reputation. Be sure to protect a loved one's secret, even if you're sorely tempted to tell a juicy story in mixed company.

SAGITTARIUS 23 November – 21 December
Be more forthcoming about your motives. You're afraid of laying your cards on the table, lest someone think you're being selfish. The truth is you are working in your own interests. Fortunately, your goals will serve the group well, too. Don't lend money to a friend, or you will always regret it. Although it will be easy for you to forgive the debt, you won't ever forget your loved one's indifference about repaying you. Keep finance and friendship strictly separate.

CAPRICORN 22 December – 20 January
Don't let your family comment on your personal life. If your partner is attacked, come to their defence. You don't want to set a dangerous precedent. Are you single? It may be because you allow your kin to influence your opinions. Instead of looking for a companion who will win their approval, seek someone who excites your rebellious side. Too often, you play it safe. Teaming up with someone who encourages you to take the occasional risk will be liberating.

AQUARIUS 21 January – 19 February
Try not to get too caught up in minor details. It's more important to deliver a project on time than render a perfect performance. If you're longing to take a trip, postpone making reservations. Weigh your options instead. Half the fun is imagining where you would like to visit most. Putting down a deposit now will be cause for regret later. An important work assignment will keep you close to home for the foreseeable future. Fortunately, this project will be lots of fun.

PISCES 20 February – 20 March
Don't be too proud to admit a mistake. People will actually admire you more for doing so. If you're in the market for romance, be open to hearing someone else's opinions on life. While your outlook may be radically different, that can be a good thing in a relationship. If you have a lover, stop putting so much emphasis on the daily routine. Do something spontaneous together. Why choose vanilla every day when you have a rainbow of flavours at your disposal?

ARIES 21 March – 20 April
You feel an overwhelming urge to stay home and pull the covers over your head. Although this instinct is understandable, you have to face the lions. A grumpy business or romantic partner finds fault with everything you do. It's time to stand in your own defence. If you don't put an end to their petty complaints, your relationship will fall apart at the seams. Don't worry. Your friend actually admires your refusal to tolerate abuse. Summon your forceful side; it hasn't failed you yet.

TAURUS 21 April – 21 May
Don't give too much information away when talking to a casual acquaintance. If someone asks you a probing personal question, give a noncommittal response. Cultivating an air of mystery will cause your star to rise. If you've been looking for work, tailor your CV to fit each particular job opening. A talented person like you has a lengthy list of skills. Including them in every job application will just create confusion for those in human resources. Make their job simpler.
