An ADORABLE baby orangutan has been nursed back to health in Indonesia, after falling critically ill.

For ten months this little cutie called Budi was kept as a pet, but due to bad living conditions and being severely malnourished, he was taken ill and nearly didn't pull through.

Luckily though, Budi was rescued in time and he is now slowly but surely getting better!

Isn't he just gorgeous?!

Taken in by the International Animal Rescue Orangutan Rescue Centre, Budi is being treated and is thankfully on the road to recovery.

Now receiving the care he needs, this little heart-melter is making progress and is now sitting up on his own at times without any support - something he previously couldn't manage.

Speaking of Budi's story, one of the doctors looking after him said: "We cannot even imagine how much pain this small baby has suffered.

"It's really amazing that Budi has been able to survive this long... Budi is a very strong little baby and he is fighting very hard to survive."

Aww. We're glad to hear it!
