Who knew foxes could be just SO adorable.

Born a month early, the cute cubs' arrival was sadly bittersweet as shortly after their birth, their mum passed away.

After suffering head injuries following a road accident, the mother fox was quickly rescued and her babies were delivered, but sadly she couldn't be saved too.

A spokesperson for Wildlife Aid Foundation said: "From the moment we admitted [the mother], she was our absolute priority.

"But in the last 24 hours the cubs have become our priority and we have had to put our own emotions aside and carry on for their sake.

"The feeling, when all five babies started breathing, was indescribable. It has made all the heartache worthwhile."

Ensuring the cubs will be well-looked after, they added: "No-one can ever really replace an animal's mother. We will be working around the clock, doing our best to hand-rear the cubs and they'll be with us for the next six months."

We have no doubt these little cuties are in very good hands!
