Caroline Flack has taken to Instagram to fend off negative comments about her BAFTA Awards jumpsuit after some labelled the look a 'fashion fail.'

The presenter - who just landed a shiny new radio gig alongside Gethin Jones - took a huge style risk at last night's BAFTA Awards ceremony in London which drew in the likes of Idris Elba and Michelle Keegan, but a lot people weren't won over by her unique getup.

Caroline decided to switch things up in a plunging black jumpsuit that boasted a fierce side split, a choker-style neckline and billowing, skirt-like detail and she stood tall in a pair of co-ordinating peep-toe platforms.

Gorgeous Ms. Flack's frock was a far cry from the embellished, slinky gowns of the evening - which we saluted her for - but she garnered heavy criticism as she struggled to sashay seamlessly down the red carpet.

Unlike Beyonce and Kim Kardashian who have a huge posse to carry their trains and to keep their curves under wraps, Caroline stopped to adjust the outfit herself and many thought she looked 'uncomfortable.'

The negative comments prompted Caroline to defend her outfit choice on Instagram - and she made a ruddy good point!

The former X Factor presenter captioned a snap of herself, "...I LOVED my jumpsuit @halstonheritage and had a great night ... And I love my buddies and my fam... And that's about it, it's just a outfit. What a week."

Trying to diffuse the attention, Caroline mentioned that the jumpsuit is "just an outfit," and the majority of her fans and followers seemed to agree as they also leapt to her defence.

One wrote, "Don't take any notice from the haters. You looked lovely," while another said, "I also thought it looked great. Flattering and completely on trend. Didn't understand negative comments."

We couldn't agree more. What is fashion without a few risks? Wardrobe malfunctions happen, right?!
