Keira Knightley burned the fashion rulebook when she made her debut at the opening night after party for Broadway play Therese Raquin in New York yesterday evening. Have you ever seen such a frock?!

The Oscar-nominated actress joined suited and booted actor Matt Ryan at the star studded event in the Big Apple and stood out in this Victorian-esque ruffle gown which boasted strips of sheer emerald green, salmon pink and powder blue material that grazed her ankles.

Keira looked every inch the English rose in the floaty, ethereal dress that featured pearlescent buttons and sweet cap sleeves as she glided along the red carpet with her Hollywood pals in tow!

When it came to her locks, Brit Keira who usually goes for the svelte, sleek look opted for dishevelled, lived in waves that complemented the airy-fairy frock perfectly.

Unlike her celebrity counterparts the face of Coco Chanel didn't show off a repertoire of super-glam and oh-so-sexy poses, and simply stood before the cameras, arms by her side, so that her unusual yet seriously pretty ensemble did all of the talking.

The star's features are so strong that she didn't need to accentuate them with a contour (we're looking at you, Kim Kardashian) and simply applied a dab of nude-pink lipstick and a dusting of peach toned blush on her chiselled cheeks.
