The award-winning fashion designer has chosen Dover Street in Mayfair as the location for her first standalone store, which will open to the public in autumn.
Victoria revealed the news to WWD, saying she chose the location because it's "young and cool" and fits with her brand and customers.
"There are great galleries in the area. There's Dover Street Market directly opposite of us, which is not a bad thing," she is quoted as saying in The Telegraph.
The 7,000 square foot project is being worked on by architect Farshid Moussavi, who previously worked on the masterplan and infrastructure for the London 2012 Olympic Games. (Which gives us an excuse to remininsce about that amazing Spice Girls reunion during the Closing Ceremony…)
News of Victoria's store isn't a complete surprise as it was rumoured last year she'd been scouting the Dover Street area as a location. At the time, though, a rep remained tight-lipped, only saying: "A store in London is under discussion."
Meanwhile, in other VB news, it's been reported that Girls star Lena Dunham has played down rumours that Victoria could make a cameo in an upcoming episode.
According to The Guardian, Lena told reporters in London this week: "Victoria Beckham mentioned she loved the show in an interview and this has been metastasised into 'Victoria Beckham is the fifth Girl. We love Victoria Beckham but she's a little chic for us."
