Downton Abbey's glamorous female stars were out in London today for a press event to launch the fourth series.

Michelle Dockery (Mary), Elizabeth McGovern (Cora) and Laura Carmichael (Edith) looked lovely as they arrived at the May Fair Hotel in the capital on Tuesday afternoon (13 August).

Elizabeth and Laura – who play mother and daughter – posed for the cameras together outside the posh hotel before heading indoors to chat with journalists.

Michelle, meanwhile, who is another on-screen daughter of Elizabeth's, looked effortlessly chic in her monochrome outfit. We love the mini black handbag!

Downton Abbey will launch its hugely anticipated fourth series on ITV later this summer and we, for one, CANNOT WAIT!

We're not alone in our Abbey love as Downton was recently short-listed by the Radio Times in its bid to find the Greatest British TV Drama of all time. It faces competitions from iconic shows like Doctor Who, EastEnders and Coronation Street.

Of course, Downton hasn't just been a roaring success over here. It's now aired in 220 territories around the world and is the most successful home-grown British drama globally.

Over in the US it's garnered 39 Emmy nominations and is watched by millions of fans on a regular basis - including Diddy who starred in a rather hilarious spoof episode of Downton recently - watch it!
