Every week, Reveal's fashion team solve your fashion dilemmas.

Here, Reveal's Associate Editor Wendy Rigg shows you how to dress for special occasions.

This week, our reader models are Lilian Chamunorwa, 21, and Mercy Petro, 22, both from South East London.

Mercy and Lilian run their own business, High Standards Event Catering, and wanted a look which would create an impression at functions they are catering this summer.

"We need something that looks fun and makes us stand-out so that we are remembered," they say.

"Mercy and Lilian had so much personality about them, I went for something colourful and a bit quirky," explains Wendy.

The occasion: graduation day

Marks and spencer dress

Dress, £59, Marks & Spencer

Accessorize clutch

Clutch, £45, Accessorize

This Marks & Spencer dress, from the Drop A Dress Size Collection, is grown up and sophisticated. In sizes 8-22, it has built-in corsetry which holds you in, giving a slimmer silhouette. For that glamorous finish, don't forget killer heels and oversized sunnies.

The occasion: garden party

Topshop bralet floral

Bralet, £26, Topshop

Miss selfridge shorts white lace

Shorts, £32, Miss Selfridge

This outfit is ideal if you're petite. The shorts and bralet top will show off your figure perfectly. Wear with chunky wooden soled sandals that won't sink into the grass, and add a floral headband for a summery vibe. If you need a cover-up, a faded denim jacket will do the job.

The occasion: city cocktails

Mango white jacket

Jacket, £54.99, Mango

Zara trousers black

Trousers, £35.99, Zara

A look that takes you from day to evening seamlessly is what's required for after-work drinks. Smart tailoring and black cropped skinnies are chic and understated. Swap daytime flats for heels and add a snakeskin clutch for the evening.

The occasion: wedding

Jarlo oriental dress

Dress, £68, Jarlo

River Island

Sandals, £70, River Island

This dress is great for those with boyish figures as the print and tunic shape will give the illusion of extra curves. Oriental print is on-trend, and you can add a pop of colour with accessories for a look that's original, fun and vibrant.
