The brunette beauty has partnered up with her friend and bridal designer Kate Chapman to launch their own label, Enais Chapman, which currently specialises in made-to-measure red carpet dresses.
Reveal caught up with the starlet to discuss her latest venture, her coping mechanisms for juggling her work and why she can't get enough of Victoria Beckham...
What made you want to design your own dress collection?
"My friend Kate is a couture bridal designer, and at the end of last year she said she'd love to make something for me for the red carpet. She knew I really enjoyed red carpet style too, so she suggested we make a collection. I was like, 'Oh my God, that's amazing, that would be brilliant!' So we started designing, getting some pieces together, and we were really enjoying it so thought it would be a good idea to set up a label."
Are you just creating red carpet dresses at the moment?
"At the beginning that's what it was, bespoke couture, but we've now decided that next year we'd like to create an evening line with cocktail dresses and evening dresses, as opposed to just occasion wear."
We saw you dressed your co-star Eden for her prom - how was that?
"Yes, it was amazing! I genuinely was so overwhelmed with the whole thing. Eden and I had a good chat in the green room and she was like, 'I'd love for you to do it'. Prom is such a big deal. We did the sketches and Eden was very integral throughout the whole process. We worked with her, showed her the materials and design and she had numerous fittings. Then when we saw her on the night, I was so overwhelmed. Obviously she's Eden, but she's also Belle Dingle from Emmerdale, so to see that little girl from the telly in her prom dress - it was a lovely moment. We had a great response from her mum and dad too."
Which celebrity do you think always gets it right on the red carpet?
"At the moment I'm absolutely loving Blake Lively's choice of red carpet dresses, both at Cannes and the Met Ball. She's just beautiful! I also think Victoria Beckham always gets it - she sticks to her own style and does it really, really well. Cate Blanchett too, she always chooses fantastic dresses which are beautifully tailored."
If you could see any celebrity wearing one of your dresses, who would it be?
"That's a really hard question because there are so many I'd love to dress! But I would absolutely love to have a dress on Cheryl Cole during The X Factor this year. I'm so glad she's going to be back on the show, I used to love seeing what she wore. In terms of Hollywood celebrities, definitely someone like Cate Blanchett. She's so classy, dignified and elegant, she's a modern version of Grace Kelly."
Whose wardrobe would you love to steal?
"Probably Victoria Beckham. I have so much admiration for her, she's got four children and she's a huge global icon, so to be doing all that and still look so stylish at all times, it's amazing! When I'm designing or doing fittings I look like a real scruff. I don't know how she manages to look so glamorous while being so busy.
"I just don't have the time in the day to get myself dressed all fancy. Especially not when I'm doing a fitting with someone, it's about making the other person feel amazing, so I don't need to look like anything myself really!"
Do you find it hard to juggle motherhood, filming for Emmerdale and working on your label?
"Sometimes I do find it hard. But I think modern women, that's what we do. We take on so much and we're used to that. I'm really lucky to have a strong support network around me - my husband, my mum and my friends. In Emmerdale, everyone has been so supportive and if I didn't have that network, there's no way I'd be able to do all the things I do. I'm genuinely really grateful for that."
What fashion trends are you loving this season?
"I'm really enjoying all the pastels and florals. I also quite like the autumn/winter side of things, when the colours go all deep and luxurious and you can bring out all your lace and velvet."
And anything you'd never wear in a million years?
"Wellies! I had to wear them on a photoshoot once and I can't stand them. I've never been to a festival. The idea of them with the mud is just not for me. I like vintage glamour, and wellies don't really go with that!"
