The X Factor's Louisa Johnson killed it at another red carpet event this week when she went slightly off-piste with her choice of eye colour... and totally nailed it!

Orange eyeshadow you say? Boom.

Louisa joined Katie Piper, Fearne Cotton and Myleene Klass at the Attitude Awards 2016 on Monday night (10 October) and looked as gorgeous as ever.

Held at 8 Northumberland Avenue in London, the awards celebrate LGBT achievements throughout the year with all benefits going to the Elton John AIDS Foundation.

Louisa chose a stunning orange ensemble for the evening, which included a fabulous combo of wide-legged trousers and a cropped bandeau top.

And her love of orange didn't stop there, for she continued the citrus theme on her eyes, with a beautiful, shimmering orange shadow over her eyelids, worn with nude lips, bronzed skin and super-straight hair (which is blonde again if you hadn't noticed!).

How much are we crushing over this beauty of a look?

So, so much...

Orange is a notoriously tricky make-up colour to wear because as a lipstick it can make your teeth look yellow. But as an eye colour, it's actually much more flattering and suits most skin tones, from the very dark... to the super-pale.

Just make sure you follow these simple rules:

1. Matte orange shadow can look quite harsh and if you're not a real pro at applying it, will show up a multitude of mistakes. For a softer look, stick with metallic shades or anything with a slight shimmer in it. Try Illamasqua Powder Eyeshadow in Vulgar, £16.50, illamasqua.com or MAC Eyeshadow in Suspiciously Sweet, £13, maccosmetics.co.uk.

2. Orange eyeshadow is nothing without black mascara so NEVER skip this step in your make-up.

3. Because it's an unexpected eye colour, make sure you let your orange eyes be the centre of attention by ditching the contoured cheeks and colour-pop lips. Instead, do like Louisa and keep your skin flawless and your lips nude.

C'mon ladies, you fancied a change from those smoky eyes anyway, right?
