Ariana Grande has a definite look and it's VERY much about 'the ponytail.'

Well, she totally took it up a notch at the weekend when she hit the stage with, not the usual straight, high pony we've come to know and love, but a much more rippled, '80s version!

Ariana, whose brother Frankie faced eviction from the Celebrity Big Brother house on Tuesday night (23 August) performed at the 2016 Billboard Hot 100 Festival at the Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh, New York on Saturday (20 August).

And as we found ourselves pouring over pictures of the gorgeous 'Bang Bang' songstress on stage, we coudn't help but notice her ponytail looked a little different to normal.

Then we got a little closer and realised she'd only gone and crimped it – how very 1984 of her, and also a trend that seems to slowly be making its way through quite a few of our favourite style icons...

Like lobs, double buns and full-on curls, we've loved the resurgence of celebrity crimping this year.

Yes, Bella Thorne, Ferne McCann and Binky Felstead, we are talking to YOU!

Crimped hair can be a tricky trend to pull off, however, because it's easy to overdo it and end up looking like a total ball of frizz.

But a crimped ponytail? Now that's a clever idea, Ariana. And one we are all over.

To copy the look at home, first tie your hair up into a high ponytail, then spritz your pony with heat-protective spray (we love Toni & Guy Prep Heat Protection Mist, £6.99, boots.com) before crimping it all over with a BaByliss Pro Hair Crimper, £19.99, boots.com.

So easy, yet so very cool. We likey.
