There's no doubt the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star is a total trendsetter; she put matte lips, sharp highlights and blue hair on the map but it seems that title comes with a price...
Taking to her website and app recently, Kylie mentioned that her all time favourite lippie shade, M.A.C's Whirl £15.50, FYI, flew off the shelves when fans discovered she was wearing it. She realised that it was almost impossible to obtain it, and so decided to launch her own line instead.
But Kylie's big idea backfired a little!
The stunner's range of mattes, glosses and metallics has sold out each time it has been re-stocked and the collection even managed to break Google Analytics in March, as thousands and thousands of fans flooded the website to land their hands on the new beauty buys.
"Long before I got my lips done, I was really obsessed with lipstick," Kylie wrote. She continued, "I was always trying to make my lips look bigger, but I didn't want people to know I was actually wearing lipstick. I started overlining my lips to see if I liked the look of them bigger."
The 18-year-old then went on to explain what prompted her to launch her beauty line. "When I got my lips done, I got even more obsessed," she said. "At the time, my favourite colour was M.A.C Whirl. I was really into it, but once everyone figured out what I was wearing, it would sell out [...] and that's how the Kylie Lip Kit came about," she said.
Funnily enough, her fans are currently finding themselves in the exact same pickle and many are yet to snap up one of her lippies because they are just so utterly popular. But what does Kylie think?
"I never imagined it would become what it has!" she wrote. "In the beginning, I didn't care because I was doing it for me, but it's amazing how successful it is now."
