And with that in mind, Made In Chelsea's Louise Thompson is the latest celebrity to jump on the the ultra-girly bandwagon as she took to Instagram yesterday afternoon to debut her newly manicured talons.
Lou ditched the 'coffin' shape, popular with the likes of TOWIE's Ferne McCann and Little Mix's Jesy Nelson and went for the short, squared off look. She also took a leaf out of pal Rosie Fortescue's book when it came to the sugary-sweet colour...
Unlike Rosie who let the baby pink do all of the talking, Louise, who is currently in the USA, jazzed up her look with a smattering of silver glitter in a subtle half moon shape - and the look couldn't be simpler to re-create at home.

To get the most out of any varnish, your nails need to be in tip top condition to begin with. Buff away dirt and dead skin with the Deborah Lippmann Smooth Operator 4 Way Nail Buffer, £10 then soak a cotton pad in an acetone remover and wash it over each nail until squeaky clean.
When your nails are dry, give them a once over with a good base coat. We adore the Essie First Base Base Coat, £9.25 - it'll last you ages - trust us.
Once your nails are touch dry, pick a pretty pink polish (O.P.I's Suzie Shops And Island Hops, £12.50 is a surefire match!) and use the three stroke trick to ensure your nails are streak free. Paint one stripe down the centre of your nail and then one down either side.
Give your nails at least three minutes in between the first and second coat to avoid annoying smudges.
Take the Nails Inc nail polish in Electric Avenue, £15 and give it a light tap to diffuse the sparkle.
Paint a dot of polish onto the centre base of your nail and use the Claire's Nail Art Brush, £3 to push the polish into a half moon shape. Repeat for each nail.
Lock in the spangle with a slick of clear top coat and pay attention to the tips to keep chips at a minimum - et voila!
