The American Idol judge stepped out in a bright and bold yellow frock - which featured a cape and sexy wrap-over detail, FYI - but she took a huge risk with her make-up which consisted of a lacquered red pout.
Red and yellow? Why, they clash right?!
Not when J.Lo works them. In fact, she absolutely nailed it.
Speaking to Allure magazine, celebrity make-up artist Nick Barose reveals why it could have been a major beauty blunder for J.Lo. Yep, worse than a visible dusting of 'translucent' powder - Amy Childs we're looking at you.
"Combining two primary colours, like yellow and red, makes each colour look even brighter and adds a younger, quirkier touch to the red lipstick." Nick said. "It's a dramatic look, but whereas a black dress with red lips looks formal and classic, yellow and red together look more youthful and fun."
He also had a word of advice for anyone willing to take the plunge when it comes to experimenting with clashing shades - because what is beauty without learning a little as you go?
"Too much colour will make this combination costumey," he said. "The beauty of this look is the minimalistic and simplistic clash of unexpected colours. Your blush should be light and your eye makeup soft."
Got it. We're off for a bit of a practise...
