Seeing as though contouring is a step we just can't bear to eschew from our make-up routine, it's only right that we look to Mrs. Kardashian West and her glam squad for top tips and shortcuts.
Cue our excitement when Kim's MUA Hrush Achemyan (who has recently been stolen by her little sister Kylie Jenner) filmed a tutorial for the stunner's brand new app, to teach us one of the most valuable contouring tricks we'll ever use!
Like many of us, Hrush starts with a concealer that is 1-2 shades lighter than Kim's skin tone but instead of drawing a triangle underneath the eye like we've been taught before, she blends the concealer downwards in large, swift strokes.
"I'm going to create downward strokes underneath the eyes to brighten," Hrush says in the thirty second clip. "Only use downward strokes because you don't want to enhance pores, you want to conceal them."
Pretty genius right? Everyone has barely-there, downy hairs on their face so blanketing the under-eye area from the bottom lashes down to the cheek makes for a seamless base that can be built upon.
But how can we avoid a blending mishap if we're in a total rush? "I pat in the highlight I applied before adding any other colour into the mix," Hrush says. We love the bareMinerals Maximum Coverage Concealer Brush, £14 for pressing the concealer right into the skin for a flawless finish sans tidemarks.
"Then go in with the contour," Hrush says, as she applies a darker shade to the cheekbones "drawing a thin line and again blending downwards."
Make like Kimmy and finish with a touch of blush on the apples of your cheeks for a perfectly flushed, natural look - et voila!
