Kelly Brook did a bit of a Kim Kardashian this week when she showed off some of her contouring make-up secrets behind-the-scenes on her latest photo shoot.

The model and actress rarely looks anything less than make-up perfect, so it was great to see her chiselled cheekbones and fine features need just as much help from their friends as ours do!

Kelly Instagrammed her latest snaps while having her face applied by celebrity make-up artist Gary Cockerill on Tuesday (16 December).

And it instantly made us think of Kim Kardashian's very similar photo earlier this year...

Kim is pretty much the queen of make-up contouring and has never been shy about revealing the secret to her infamous chiselled cheekbones.

But clearly contouring with various shades of foundation and powder is a make-up trick that's used on rather a lot of our favourite beauty icons.

We're sure you'll probably agree, Kelly does look a little bit scary in the first snap, but after her foundations have been perfectly blended and topped off with bronze, sultry eyeshadow and creamy, nude lips (below), her finished look screams 'glamour'.

Here's how to get jiggy with a bit of contouring action at home...

1. First, grab a foundation that's two to three shades darker than your natural skin tone and apply this in the hollows of your cheeks, around your hairline and down each side of your nose.

2. Blend this into your skin using a foundation brush, then add lightness to the high planes of your face (ie: your forehead, down the centre of your nose and across your cheekbones) with either a paler foundation or an illuminating cream.

3. Again, blend well, then cover-up blemishes and dark circles with your favourite concealer and finish with a soft blusher over the apples of your cheeks.

Still not sure how to contour like a pro? Then don't worry about it – we can't all boast Gary Cockerill's brush skills, after all!

Instead, pop to your local department store and ask a professional to show you how it's done.

Oh how we love cheating our way to gorgeousness!
