There's nothing we love more than a vampy lip and Demi Lovato totally nailed the look while out in Washington, D.C. yesterday (15 December).

The 'Skyscraper' singer looked incredible as she stepped out at Hot 99.5's Jingle Ball, painting her pout a smouldering deep vino red hue.

To go with her bold pout, the songstress added light shimmery brown eyeshadow to her lids along with mega-fluttery false lashes, finishing her look with dark, structured brows.

Like Demi, we can't get enough of vampy lippy as it suits pretty much every skintone, and it's a great way to glam up a simple outfit for the festive season.

MAC Lip Pencils in Vino and Nightmoth, £12.50 each

One of our fave ways to wear a vampy lip is by simply drawing a lip pencil all over your pout, as it gives a long-lasting, matte finish. MAC make a great selection of colours, but we particularly love the shades Vino, an intense berry red, and Nightmoth, a mega-dark plum purple. Both pencils apply smoothly without tugging the skin and give impressive colour pay-off with minimal effort. If you want to give your lips a slight sheen, try lightly dabbing some Vaseline Lip Therapy, £3.99, over the top with your finger.

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Black Cherry, £7.99

This colour is a flattering dark vino red, and it leaves a slight plumped-up shine to the lips. It glides on easily but it can cling to dry patches, so make sure you exfoliate your lips first (we love Lush Lip Scrub, £5.50, or you can just use a soft toothbrush). The formula is very creamy so it doesn't dry your lips out, but this also means it's not the most long-wearing, so it's best to wear it layered over a lip pencil. But the great thing about this product is you can customise your colour - pat it on lightly for a just-bitten rosy stain, or apply straight from the bullet for a full-on, statement pout.

Maybelline Colour Drama Intense Velvet Lip Pencil in Berry Much

Maybelline Colour Drama Intense Velvet Lip Pencil in Berry Much, £4.99

Maybelline Colour Drama Intense Velvet Lip Pencil in Berry Much, £4.99

We love the design of this product, it's a chunky lip pencil and is super-easy to apply, all you have to do is outline your lips before colouring them in. It delivers a dark plum hue with a matte finish while still feeling comfortable on the lips, and the pigmentation is very impressive - you only need one coat for an opaque finish. Plus we love the cheap-as-chips price tag!
