We're used to seeing Khloe Kardashian with smoky kohl-rimmed peepers, but yesterday (24 November) she chose to dip into the beauty rule book and mix things up on the make-up front.

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star snapped an Instagram photo of her smouldering new look, with a slick of super-bright eyeliner adorning her peepers for a striking look.

Letting her eyes steal all the attention, Khloe opted for a fuss-free caramel nude pout while flaunting flawless skin, fluttery lashes and bold, structured eyebrows.

So, what's the deal with pale eyeliner? Well, most of us tend to use a black kohl pencil across our inner waterlines, giving our peepers heaps of drama and intensity.

While shading this area with a black hue may look amazing, the dark colour can also close up your eyes, making them look smaller.

That's where a paler, off-white liner (pure white is sometimes too stark!) comes in handy - it mimics the shade of the whites of your eyes, making your peepers appear wide awake and leaving you bright-eyed and bushy-tailed.

When we fancy doing this trick (usually the morning after a big night out!), we turn to Benefit Eye Bright Pencil, £15.50.

It's a very pale pink-white hue which, when carefully applied to your lower waterlines, helps make your eyes look instantly fresher in just a few seconds.

We're also fans of Rimmel ScandalEyes Kohl Liner in Nude, £3.99, which is more of a creamy skintone shade. Again, this will help open up your eyes and make them appear larger.

It can look quite obvious when first applied, so very gently tap in the colour with your finger for a natural effect.

Finish with a feline flick of liquid liner along with a touch of black eyeshadow smudged into your lower lashlines, plus oodles of mascara!
