Cheryl Fernandez-Versini has swapped her usual deep smoky eyes for something a whole lot brighter - and we love it!

The 'Crazy Stupid Love' singer stepped out in London yesterday (4 August) for a round of X Factor auditions, and she couldn't help but take a quick selfie with the audience.

Cheryl showed off her fab purple eyeshadow in an Instagram snap.

Posting the photo to her Instagram account, the stylista referred to the famous '#SELFIE' song by The Chainsmokers, writing: "Xf.. Next audition.. But first.. Let's take a selfie !"

Oh Chezza, you're a girl after our own hearts!

We also got a glimpse of her beauty look in her snap, with the songstress rocking a slicked-back ponytail teamed with a flash of bright purple eyeshadow running along her lower lashline.

The singer showcased her sleek high ponytail in an Instagram picture earlier that day.

Now we've already recreated Cheryl's super-sleek high ponytail, so why not jump on the violet make-up bandwagon too?!

Here's our tips for recreating a similar striking beauty look at home...

1. If you want to make this look wearable for daytime, the key is to keep any bright colours just on the lower lashline.

Start by decorating your upper lids with your usual fave neutral smoky shades - deep smouldering browns work well on all eye colours. We're loving L'Oréal Paris Colour Riche Mono Eyeshadows, £5.49 each - the sultry colours pack a punch on the pigmentation front. And remember to use an eyeshadow primer first to help increase longevity - try Urban Decay Primer Potion, £16.

2. Next, take a purple eyeliner (such as KIKO Sportproof Eyeliner in Orchid Violet, £6.90) and trace along your lower lashline before smudging with your finger.

3. Dip a thin brush into a purple eyeshadow (try Illamasqua Eyeshadow in CanCan, £15.50) and run it over where you put your pencil - this will help seal your colour in place.

For a more dramatic look, make like Cheryl and extend your shadow from the outer corner of your peeper. Use your finger or a fluffy brush to blend your eyeshadow so there are no harsh lines.

4. To make sure your eyes stay defined, take a black kohl pencil and gently run it all the way along the waterlines of both your upper and lower lids. Finish by curling your lashes before applying a few coats of mascara - we like L'Oréal False Lash Telescopic Mascara, £10.99.
