Fearne Cotton bucked the bob trend this week by turning her shoulder-length hair into a long, Kate Moss-like do...

While the likes of Vanessa Hudgens, Rumer Willis and Made in Chelsea's Lucy Watson have all been ditching their lengths for shorter locks this summer, our Fearne proved she's not one to follow the masses by working her hair in completely the opposite direction!

Fearne had her hair cut into a shoulder-length do back in December of last year and has been rocking her bob ever since.

But the Radio 1 DJ showed off much longer locks while posing behind-the-scenes on a photo shoot on Monday (28 July) along with nail guru Sophy Robson, hairdresser Daniel Martin and celebrity make-up artist Mary Greenwell.

Wow, what an A-team of creative geniuses. Jealous? Us?

We sadly can't see Fearne's mani, but her make-up looked impeccable with dark, sultry eyes and nude lips.

And the biggest change was her non-existent bob as top London hairdresser Daniel had totally transformed Fearne's hair with the help of some cheeky extensions.

Steering clear of the usual 'hair extension' look of big, blow-dried locks, Daniel gave Fearne a much more rock-chick finish with a messy look that had a definite Mossy feel to it.

The long hair is probably just a temporary do (although time will tell on that one), but it's a gorgeous look you can easily recreate at home – and the messed up effect works on bobs just as well as long hair anyway!

Simply spritz damp hair with a texturising spray like Trevor Sorbie Styling Salt Texture Spray, £5.59, boots.com, then either let it dry naturally, or use a diffuser-dryer while scrunching your hair between your fingers to create a textured, bed-head effect.

To finish, apply some Fudge Urban Texture Junk Styling Paste, £6.99, boots.com through the ends to separate and add even more definition.
