Kelly Osbourne has definitely secured her place as one of 2014's biggest beauty icons with her latest super-dark, goth lips.

The Fashion Police co-presenter posted this snap on Instagram on Monday (16 June) asking her followers: "Too goth?"

And we say, hell no!

Kelly and her mum, Sharon Osbourne, recently launched a capsule make-up collection for MAC Cosmetics and to be honest, it's no wonder she was asked when she manages to look so darn fabulous in such a tricky lip colour.

Deep, berry lips are a staple on the red carpet, but it's taken New Zealand singer-songwriter Lorde to bring such a deep purple lip to everyone's attention over the past year.

The 'Royals' singer has made the look her trademark and is rarely seen at events with anything less than an almost-black pout.

Lorde is also a MAC fan (with her very own collection launching this month, btw).

She wore MAC lip colours at both the Brits and the Grammy Awards, including the infamous Lipstick in Cyber, £15, maccosmetics.co.uk which is basically the perfect lipstick for nailing this look.

Just remember to keep the rest of your make-up pretty simple if you don't want to overdo the whole goth theme and end up looking more 'walking dead' than 'red carpet glam'!

Look at both Kelly and Lorde and you'll see their lips do all the talking while their eye make-up is barely-there – a simple slick of eyeliner and some mascara is all it takes to bring the whole look together.

And if you're a bit unsure, stick with sheer colours that don't overcrowd your face, or try applying a wearable gloss rather than a slightly-harder-to-nail matte shade.
