Ashley Roberts added a touch of summer colour to her hair this week by going for some pink dip-dye on the tips of her gorgeous blonde locks.

The former Pussycat Doll and Dancing On Ice judge is about to release her first single, 'Clockwork' as a solo artist at the end of the month (25 May) and we love how she's working a new look to go with this new stage in her career...

Ashley tried a 'lil pink' in her hair and we love it! 7 May 2014

"Lil pink?! Yea why not @harrietmuldoon #havingfun," Ashley posted on Wednesday (7 May) along with this Instagram snap above.

Ashley's new dip-dyed do was created by Harriet Muldoon, a hair colour technician at hip London salon chain, Blue Tit.

Who knows whether it's a permanent addition to Ashley's blonde, shoulder-length hair or just a wash-in, wash-out number, but however long it lasts, we like it!

Ashley joins all manner of celebrities rocking pastel and primary colours in their hair right now, including Nicole Richie who 'did a Kelly O' earlier this year by dying her hair lavender, and Katy Perry who's currently rocking a bit of green in her jet-black bob.

And with the festival season in full swing, maybe it's time we all upped the amount of colour in our hair!

To temporarily re-create Ashley's pink dip-dye, try applying Bumble & Bumble Spray Chalk in Blush, £15, or Fudge Urban Colour Hair Chalk in Pink, £5.99, to the ends of your hair only.

Pink works best on blonde hair, however, so if you're a brunette, try purple, electric blue or Katy Perry green on your ends instead.
