Lauren Pope proved yesterday that we're not the only ones to be inspired by Cara Delevingne's amazing style as she channelled the catwalk princess's favourite hairdo, the side braid!

"Cara D inspired side braided hair y'day for #towie #hair," Lauren posted, along with this cute close-up of her plaited do...

Plaits are getting more and more popular with A-listers right now, with everyone from Katy Perry and Pixie Lott, through to Caroline Flack and Chloe Grace Moretz rocking all manner of milkmaid braids, French plaits, fishtails and intricate twists and turns.

And Cara is fast becoming the queen of tiny side-braids, having worn one back in May at the Costume Institute Gala Benefit in New York (AKA the Met Ball).

She also worked a similar look just last month at a London Fashion Week dinner for W Magazine (below), rocking the look with a sexy, silver tuxedo jacket and her trademark smoky eyes and nude lips.

Lauren is no stranger to fabulous hairstyles either, having worked her own festival-inspired plaits in the summer.

The TOWIE star even boasts having her own range of natural, clip-in hair extensions, pieces and accessories called Hair Rehab London.

So, while Lauren is a bit of a hair icon herself and has a very different style and look to Cara's, we love the fact she still takes inspiration from other celebrities.

It just goes to show that hair and make-up looks are totally interchangeable and can work on anyone – as long as you're clever and choose the right trend like Lauren.

Lesson. Learnt.
