The Only Way Is Essex has beaten Made In Chelsea in the battle of the barnets!

A new survey by asked 520 women whose hairdos they preferred, with TOWIE pipping MIC to the post and scooping the number one spot.

Participants were first asked to indicate whose tresses they like best out of Lucy Mecklenburgh's glossy hair and Millie Manderson's (nee Mackintosh) caramel locks.

It was a tough call, but Lucy stole the crown (just) with 51% of the vote - it seems we can't get enough of her immaculate bonce!

Next up, a brunette brawl between Jessica Wright and Binky Felstead. Again, TOWIE stole the title with Jess' mane earning 66% of the vote.

Blonde bombshells Gemma Collins and Cheska Hull went head-to-head with their golden 'dos, but it was Gemma who snatched victory with an impressive 71%.

Next up, lotharios Spencer Matthews and Mario Falcone fought it out for the top male mop. It was a close call, with Spencer taking the top spot after receiving 53% of the vote.

Finally, Jamie Laing's platinum hair vs Joey Essex's 'Fusey' cut. Unfortunately Joey's hairstyle failed to impress, with Jamie earning a mighty 64% of the vote.

One respondent commented: "I think that the girls in TOWIE have amazing hair. I'm so jealous because I don't think I have ever seen any of them having a bad hair day."

However, another said: "I much prefer the Made In Chelsea girls' hair, simply because it actually looks real. The majority of the girls are very natural and learn how to style their own hair in a nice way, instead of getting extensions."
