It looks like Kimberley Walsh has officially said goodbye to summer, as yesterday she posted a picture of her nails rocking one of autumn's hottest colours, berry red!

The gorgeous Girls Aloud star and former Strictly Come Dancing finalist Instagrammed her sexy nails to fans with the words "hello autumn," after having them painted by celebrity nail technician, Lucy Tucker.

And may we say, nice choice of nail colour Kimberley.

Berry red is a key trend for both lips and tips this autumn/winter and were showcased on models' nails at the Burberry, DSquared2 and Zac Posen catwalk shows.

But we're sure both Kimberley and Lucy knew that already!

To get the look, go for short and squared-off nails, or if you're lucky enough to be well endowed in the nail area, keep them super-long and sexy like Kimberley's.

Never shy of nail colour, Kimberley wore a fab fluoro mani at a London party, 9 July 2013

Buff your nails gently and push your cuticles down with a cotton bud to create the perfect base for your mani, then apply a clear base coat – dark colours are killers when it comes to staining your nails.

Next, apply two thin coats of colour, working slowly and steadily to avoid getting colour all over your fingers. We love OPI Nail Lacquer in Lincoln Park at Midnight, £11.50,

Leave each coat to dry completely, then grab a thin make-up brush dipped in nail polish remover to remove any polish from the skin around your nails.

To finish, apply a thin layer of super-shiny top coat like Sally Hansen Nail Shine Miracle Top Coat, £9.95, for the perfect, professional-looking mani.

Slip into an LBD, grab your coat (it IS autumn after all!) and away you go!
