Rita Ora has made a few fashion faux-pas in her time, but never before has the gorgeous singer got her make-up as wrong as she did at the GQ Men of the Year Awards last night (3 September)...

Rita Instagrammed a quick selfie on the way to the awards, held at the Royal Opera House in London, and if the picture hadn't come from Ms Ora herself, we don't think we'd have known it was her!

Looking almost orange, with overly drawn-on eyebrows and pantomime-like eyeliner, we're sorry Rita, but this look is not working for us.

We're all for trying out slightly more unusual catwalk looks every now and again and we'd have put money on Rita being able to get away with most make-up colours and trends, but this is certainly not the 'R.I.P' singer's finest hour!

We hoped it might have just been bad, 'back of the taxi' light or maybe she'd just taken the picture at a weird angle, but even on the red carpet it wasn't THAT much better...

From a distance, she looked stunning in a black and yellow Etro Fall 2013 dress.

And on closer inspection Rita certainly looked more like her normal self with glowing skin and fabulously quiffed hair, but the make-up wasn't quite what we've come to expect from one of our favourite beauty icons.

It definitely wasn't the howler it looked on first inspection and hats off to her for trying something different.

But next time?

Stick with the red lippy, Rita, purlease!
