Caroline Flack, Cara Delevingne and Mary-Kate Olsen all have one thing in common – a current love of wearing their hair in thin, cute plaits!

We love an easy celebrity hair trend here in the Reveal office and plaits are right up there with beachy waves in our list of must-dos for this summer's festival season.

It's a good job then, that this look is everywhere right now.

Caroline Flack literally can't keep her barnet OUT of plaits at the moment (!), showcasing her latest 'go-to-do' rather fabulously for the X Factor auditions at London's ExCel centre yesterday (19 June).

Both Cara Delevingne and Mary-Kate Olsen also joined the braidy bunch last month, going for thin, face-framing plaits at this year's Costume Institute Gala Benefit in New York.

So, with the festivals very much in full swing, we predict an onslaught of plaited hair in amongst the mud, wellies and nail art!

"Braids always make an appearance at this time of year as they fit the festival style perfectly," explains top hairdresser, Norris Ogario, founder of the Ogario London salon.

"This season, however, we're going to see more of a shift towards edgier, multiple braids similar to those seen on Mary-Kate Olsen and model of the moment Cara Delevingne. It's a cool look and great for hiding dirty festival hair horrors!"

Cara Delevingne also hit the Met Ball in New York with braids in her hair...

Any tips for us then, Norris?

"Absolutely. Simply plait your hair when it's wet and leave it until it's nearly dry. Then, after loosening it to reveal soft casual waves, add in some plaits around the side of your face, using your fingers to mess them up and give the whole look a fluffy feel."

And for those real, unwashed hair moments, just spritz a bit of dry shampoo in first.
