Jessie J may be embracing a shorter, more natural nail look right now, but Nicole 'Snooki' Polizzi is still working super-long talons for all you stiletto nail fans out there!

Snooki Instagrammed a close-up of her latest black and white nail art this week (3 June) and we're pleased to divulge her monochrome mani is a simple one to copy at home...

OK, so the long talons aren't easy to achieve without the help of acrylics or stick-on nails, but if you simply like the look of the Jersey Shore star's paintwork (and why wouldn't you?), then you're in luck.

All you'll need are a fairly steady hand, some clear base coat, black polish, a white nail art pen and a glossy top coat.

Oh and maybe a good 30 minutes to make sure you have enough time to do the job properly and allow your nails to dry thoroughly...

1. Black polish is a real swine when it comes to staining, so first, apply a thin layer of base coat to your nails to nip this in the bud.

2. Next, apply two thin coats of Maybelline Express Finish Nail Polish in Onyx Black, £4.09,

3. When you're sure the polish is 100% dry, grab a Barry M Nail Art Pen in White, £4.99, and carefully draw three 'V' shapes, pointing to the tip of each nail.

4. Again allow your white lines to totally dry, then finish with a clear glossy top coat to protect your fine work.

Try 'floating' the brush of your topcoat over each nail, rather than brushing too firmly on the nail. This stops any chances of messing up the lines.

Perfectly do-able, don'tcha think?
